Today we have to write one of these
We went to the clinic this morning for blood tests and another chemo treatment. The tests have been coming back with better results every week. She is doing so well. We are so happy. Hopefully this continues. Next monday it is back to the clinic for tests and then to the hospital again. That is the week we all dread, it comes too fast. Time has been flying by and before we know it these five months will be gone and the schedule will even get better. *smile* Thank you all for helping me get through this rough time. With your help you made it easier for me to cope with what was happening and I was able to help out the rest of the family cope with it. Thank you *HUGS* from me and Miky.

Tomorrow one of the little boys that Miky got to know in the hospital is going in for his cancer operation. He has cancer of the bone and it is in his hip and upper leg. They will remove the hip and upper leg, turn the knee to place it at his hip (to act as a hip), make his ankle to act as a knee (put in a artificial knee cap) and then place the foot down so in time it can hold the artificial leg and foot. Many people don't realise what some of these kids have to face with cancer. My heart, well wishes and prayers go out to him and his family tomorrow. We all wish you well and a successful operation.

Today Miky got to go shopping for a bit. When she got into the store she took off her hat and her Mom told her to leave her hat on to keep her head warm (cause she is totally bald now) and so people won't stare (to protect her daughter from criticism from stares from others). Well Miky is getting an attitude about herself and told her Mom, "I don't care, they can go (and sticks her tongue out and blows a raspberry)" *smile* A good attitude to have. People can be cruel at times.

It has been cold here. Too cold to take Miky out lately. Tomorrow she is going to the Cancer for Kids xmas party. The party is being held at the big mall here (largest mall in the world) in the area where all the rides are. These kids will get 2 hrs of free rides. I know 2 kids that will spend 2 hrs on the merry-go-round. hehehe Haven't heard yet how the little boy is doing, will find out on Monday. Miky has to go back into the hospital on Monday for her chemo and tests again. Poor little thing. This is suppose to be a joyful, happy time of the year and these poor little ones go through so much and still can be happy. I really don't know how they cope, I don't think many adults could cope with it all and still be as happy as these kids are.

Miky went into the operating room yesterday. She came out with a lot of pain. I guess while she was under and while they were taking the samples her body jumped and they may have hit a nerve. It was a bad day for her and seeing her like that was hard on everybody else. She has to get a blood transfusion today and hopefully come home tomorrow. We always look forward to the days she gets to come home. If she gets home tomorrow we will be done with the running till Tue.

Miky got to come today. When we got to the hospital and they said she could come home, she was one happy little girl. Her Mom was trying to get her sweater on; but Miky figured it wasn't going fast enough; she was trying to put her own pants on at the same time. hehehehe .. I packed her suitcase and when Miky had her coat and boats on ... she grabbed that suitcase and was pulling it down the hallway by herself. She was in a hurry and wasn't waiting for anybody. She had us out of that hospital pretty fast.

Today was the test day at the clinic and all was good; her counts are coming back up again after the chemo treatment last week. They give them chemo, kill off all the white cells, then the body has two weeks to build up the cells again, then they give her chemo to kill the cells again . Poor kids .. they get about one week of feeling good before they are knocked back down again. Back again next Monday for more tests.

Today Miky turned 2. A Happy Birthday to you Miky. A lot has happen to you in these last few months and you have had to grow up faster than we wanted to see happen to you; but, I know all this has been a start of a very special girl and will make you a great person as you mature. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Miky from all of us.

Today it was back to the clinic for tests. They were good and building up again. There has been a volunteer at the clinic every Monday that Miky had taken a shine too. He is an university student who volunteers in the toy room to help all the kids there. Yesterday may have been his last day as the schedule of classes may not allow it next term. Miky spent most of the time there sitting on his knee playing with the toys, she will really miss him. I really do hope he gets to come back next year. Merry Christmas Corey from Miky and the rest of us.

This was the day for the operating room procedures. Miky went in all by herself today. She did great and came out of it pretty happy. Things are looking good.
