Nov 2007
I haven't wrote in here like forever.
It has not been a great year.
To get you caught up a bit.
My best friend in the world Dion Passed away last Oct. 15, 2006 (after a very long battle with cancer) and my life came to a complete stop for almost a year. I stopped doing almost everything and anything that reminded me of him and what we did together on the internet. Guess you can say I took his passing pretty hard and I still miss my friend very much but I can now talk about him without breaking down. I didn't think anybody in this world would ever affect me this way with their passing because I normally have been very good at putting up a shield around me most of the time. LOL Somebody stole my shield. hehehe I can't find it anywhere and it is happening again.
I had my finger operated on in Feb 2007 and the pain is gone but the scar tissue is so bad that it never straightened out so yes now it is a cripple LOL I will go and see if it can be released when I get time and feel like it. In Sept 2007 I fell and broke my wrist and thumb so I was once again laid up but so far they are healing up pretty good.
Many other things have happened throughout this time many things just normal and other things not so normal but my life is never boring and far from the normal LOL
My dad is still hanging on but not doing well and has been living with me off and on. He broke his hip this last June and I had him here for a while till I got him mobile enough to go home again. He insists he has to be living in his own home so I have to abide by his wishes but now it has come to the point where I have to make decisions and make a move to be closer to him. Not to live with him but be closer so I will be making a move in the near future.
I have thrown myself into Digital Scrapbooking and hope to start sharing some of my creations on here eventually if I have room to do so. Time will tell.
And that is all I have time for right now as I just have such a busy life. NOT. LOL Nascar Race is over and I have to go get some work done. ARRRGGG
Oh Yea and MY GIVE A DAMN IS STILL BUSTED. :-)
June 2006
I still haven't got over April yet. So not too talkative yet. Been hot here and I keep busy and have really been enjoying watching the hockey games this year. One of the players on the Oiler's team is the son of a guy I grew up with (a neighbor boy of us). Really neat to think of all those days he drove us crazy with all of his stats on the teams from back then that he would eventually have a son playing in the league. Really good for him and I am proud of him and his wife(whom also grew up in my home town). It takes a lot of time and money to get your child that far advanced in the league.
May 2006
Last Month wasn't a good month. I don't even want to remember it. So April 2006 didn't happen this year. It has took me till June to write anything in here.
Those crates that are used to move furniture or store furniture are really neat. Suppose to get a whole house in one of them. Well not my house would go in there but it sure holds a lot of stuff. LOL Great way to move. They drop it off in your driveway, you take your time and load everything into it. They come and pick it up. Drop it off in the driveway of the new place and you take your time to unload it and then they come to pick it up. Really cool.
April 2006
Last sunday night I ended up spending the evening at the vets assisting in the operating room. Been a long time since I have done that and I did just fine. Not something I would want to do every day though. I have been keeping busy, guess that is the main thing. I haven't been on this thing very much anymore and when I do get on here it isn't for very long. Usually I just print or scan the files I need for a project and head back to work.
March 2006
This month ended as a lamb and the weather has been great. This winter we only had a little over a month of snow.
Another month almost gone. The weather has been nice and water is running all over. I saw a gopher on sunday so spring is not far off now. I don't seem to get much time to spend on the computer anymore. Real life has taken over with work, classes, family, and animals. Sheba isn't doing well, so I may lose her before I thought I would, hopefully not though. She has been a really great dog. Buddy is doing great and seems to have taken over jobs that Sheba thought were hers. LOL
My friend still is having problems and is off to the hospital again today. Hopefully they find out what is wrong and get it corrected. He is to start radiation next week for 5 weeks.
Another month gone. Time is going by so fast. Seems this month came in as a lion so hopefully it goes out like a lamb. I have been calling Dad and he is doing fairly well this year. I sure don't worry about him like I did a year ago. That was a rough year. Brenda seems to be doing good with her shots for MS. As long as she gets lots of rest she does good. Their place is sold and they will be moving into their new house in July. They don't move out of this one till June so I guess they will be living out of my holiday trailer for a couple months as their house won't be built in time. That should be fun. LOL
Feb. 2006
Well the snow finally came. This week it started to snow and it doesn't seem to know when to quit now. Last week I had to run downtown, right down to city center, to see the lawyer and I am so glad the snow waited till this week to come, as the streets are terrible and accidents all over. She called this week and seems everything is moving along great so hopefully no more trips down there for a while now.
My friend got out of the hospital but still isn't very well. More tests next week so back to the hospital for a few days. I hope this works for him cause he has been in the hospital more than out of it since this started.
This month started out just great. The weather has been way above normal and still no snow. Wooohooo That is the best part of this winter. Only problem with this weather is that I seem to just start to feeling good and here comes another bug to get me. I think I may have it beat this time; now, if those kids stay away long enough and not give me anything else I'll be in good shape.
My friend Dion is still in the hospital fighting off cancer. He had his stem cell transplant last week and now just to keep him from getting a cold or something. Last Friday wasn't a good night for him, I think we almost lost him. But he pulled through and I am so happy. I had a few days and nights of worrying there. Five to ten more days and he should be back to recovery. I hope this works and cures him.
Brenda is coming along good, seems her daily shots are starting to work for her. She just needs to make sure she gets lots of rest. Is really good to see her with life again. She was in pretty bad shape there for a long time.
Last week took Micky to get her eyes tested and get glasses. She loves them .. they are barbie frames. Was no changing her mind about the frames; but, being able to see proper again has really made a difference in her.
I have been trying to keep really busy here even with me not feeling all that great. Been making lots of stuff and practicing. Next week some of my tools will be here and then I can really go to town and get some things done. I am really enjoying what I am into now.
Valentines came and went and I heard from all my best buds and it was a nice day.
I haven't been in any programs much lately with Dion in the hospital and not feeling well enough to get on his laptop and my other friends off to work. But I did get in contact with my girlfriend again after her being off line for 2 years. Was great to hear from her again. We had lots to get caught up on.
One night this week Dion did make it online and we played some spades with a couple friends of ours. He enjoyed that but was really tired, so we split after 1 game.
Nascar Racing has started again. Now that is the best part of Feb. MMMMM Not the best part but better than some things. LOL
Well that was my first half of Feb. Was exciting for part of it and eventful on other parts, but; I wouldn't trade anything for something else. Well maybe some things hehehehe :-)
Jan. 2006
Already a new year. We had our Xmas with the kids on New Years day and had a really good time. I am glad the Xmas season is over though and can get back to normal living again. Ohh yes and I have already started a new aphgan for myself and have the yarn for 5 of them; but, there is no hurry for these. :-)
The year started out good. Took Dad back home and he was so glad he had come up to spend the Xmas season here.
I decided this year I am going to pursue some new hobbies and see how well I do with them. My new year resolution. Oh heck they never turn out so I will just keep working on what I have been doing and try to further it into something different in time.
I was doing really well till I came down with the flu and felt like I was going to die. I think I ended up with pneamonia and that knocked the heck out of me. I am back on the track of health again. I didn't want to go to the drs. with this as the dr offices are just full of many different kinds of flu and sickness. I didn't want to catch anything different on top of what I already had. The weather here has been just great, no snow and warm out (above freezing). Hence for all the illness going around.
Another month almost gone. Only 11 more months and we are back in that Xmas season again. Take me that long to get over the last one. LOL
Dec. 2005
Wow already the last month of the year. This year has gone by so fast I haven't been able to keep up with it.
I have been busy since Sept. crocheting aphgans for the kids for Xmas. I have made 9 of them. One for each kid and one for Dad.
I brought Dad up before Xmas and he stayed till after New Years. He really enjoyed himself and got to spend X-mas with all the kids for the first time since they were little kids.
Also is the first time he got to spend my birthday with me since before I got married; which, was forever ago. He wanted to take me out for a birthday supper but Brenda came over and made us a birthday supper and I was going down to the other kids the next day so he took me out the day after.
The day I had to go down to the other kids he went and spent the day over at Brenda's house and he enjoyed that. He had something happening every day he was up here and enjoyed it all.
When he got his aphgan he was so proud of it that he had to go have a nap with it right away. The kids all loved their aphgans and all slept with theirs that night.
Nov. 2005
This wasn't a good month for Dad. He went out to the garage and tried to get the furnace going. The gas was turned on and he got gassed and when he didn't answer the phone at 7 pm when the home staff call to check on him they got Harold to go out and check on him and Harold found him in the garage very sick and almost froze. The ambulance had to go out and pick him up and take him to the hospital where he was for a few days. He seemed to recover ok from that ordeal. But it did set him back for a bit.
Oct. 2005
I took my car down to store for the winter and visited with dad for a bit.
He had to go to the hospital one night and they got his sugar leveled out and the dr drove him back home. That guy is getting spoiled rotten down there.
He had a good month except for that one day. Getting stronger all the time.
Sept. 2005
Picked Dad up and brought him up for his appointment at the hospital to have his pacemaker checked. All was well with it and don't have to bring him up for another year to have it checked. He wanted to go home the same day but I told him that was too much for him and I took him home the day after.
All in all it was a very good month here.
I got a new top on my car and it really looks good again. Is so nice to beable to drive it again.
Aug. 2005
Had Dad here for most of the month. When I took him home he was in good health and getting stronger every day. He sure was happy to be home again and had a lot of plans on all the work he had to do or catch up on. Sure is quiet around here with him gone.
July 2005
Already half of the year gone. I still have Dad here and he seems to be getting stronger but seems to be very confused at times. Went and bought him a good walker and have been taking him out for walks on really nice days. He gets tired easily and has to sit and rest often. Good thing I got a walker with a seat on it. He wasn't too pleased at first with the idea of a walker but now is glad he has it.
I was going to give him a treat this past weekend and asked him if he would like to go down to the farm for a day to check it out and make sure everything was ok there. He said that would be great but we would have to take his truck and I said we would be. Well, you would never guess it but he was up all that night packing his stuff and when I got up he had everything packed and ready to go and it was only Friday and I told him he wasn't going to go down to stay there, just for the day. He was upset with me all day and I told him we weren't going down because it was going to rain. I don't dare take him down. Very hard to get things across to elderly people when they are confused about everything. BAD IDEA SUBJECT WILL NEVER COME UP AGAIN. Today I unpacked all his stuff again saying I had to wash some of it. Keeps me busy thinking up good ways to get around bad situations.
June 2005
Already is summer out there. The time is going by so fast. Dad isn't doing very well.
This month will be a short one here. Dad ended up in the hospital. I cleaned out my computer room and moved all the computers and my scrapbooking supplies to another room and now I can swing my chair in any direction and touch something. I'm just like a sardine in a tin can. hehehe I went down and picked up Dad from the hospital, packed up a lot of his stuff and grabbed his dog and truck and brought him up here to stay til he gets well and strong again. I gave him my old computer room and he has a tv in there and the bathroom right off of it and kitchen next to it. He seems to be quite comfortable in there. I don't get much time to play on my computer any more as cooking, snacks and medication and needles seem to take up much of my time. I have to watch him fairly close as he seems to sneak out and try to take his meds and needles when he isn't suppose to. Arghhhhhh
May 2005
Great way to start out a month. NASCAR RACIN' WoooHoooo
Had a great beginning of the month of May. Still got my cold but am a lot better than I was.
I got my appointment with the dr about my finger and wouldn't you know it; just my luck, I get notice that I have to report for JURY DUTY on the same day as my appointment. Now I don't know what to do. I can go to the appointment and skip the Jury Duty but get charged for not showing up .. or go to Jury Duty and skip the Dr. appointment and wait another 4 months to get back in. Time to make phone calls and get this mess straightened out.
The weather has been nice lately and everything is green and growing. I love summer.
Hopefully got this Thurs. figured out. I made the phone call and was told I would be out of the court house before my appointment. So I better be, or I will be walking out when it is time for me to get there in time.
I have been busy sorting through all of the filters and plugins I have here and been making lots of music pages. I love music. :-)
I got a new phone connection that is running through my internet cable and it seems to be really good and not very expensive. That will help with the budget, maybe. LOL
well, wouldn't you know it, 150 people there and 12 are picked for the jury and I am one of them. Go Figure. Oh well, it will be something to do for a week. And yes I made it to my Dr. appointment. Got a needle in that finger and started therapy the next day. Another cast; but, this one is way different than the other ones and my finger feels not to bad after the first initial pain of being moved. I sure hope this works because people sure give me the evil eye when they constantly get the "big white" finger from me. LOLOL
Wow, I really enjoyed the jury duty. I think that could be a good profession for me. LOL It was a great experience. Now, onto real life again.
April 2005
April already!! Spring is in the air. After last month I think I will either run away from home or go into hiding. LOL
Dad is doing very well, still very weak but the pacemaker has stopped the falling spells he was having and they stopped his blood thinner and that was one of the things that made me really worry about him. He has got out of the hospital; but, has to come up here for a checkup on his pacemaker this month. We still have his little dog up here and he is missing her. I called him and he isn't eating very well. He goes to town for soup at lunch time and then throws out the food what the cooks cooked for him that day at the house. Not good news cause it is making me worry more about him. I plan on going down and getting him on a weekend before his appointment and then not take him back till the next weekend; so, hopefully I will get his strength built up a bit before he goes back and get him used to 3 meals a day again.
Got Dad up here, drove his truck back with him and it was better for him, more room and more comfortable. All the bruises and swelling are gone and he looked so good. I always tell him he is one tough old indian, he just grins at me. We had a great week and I think he enjoyed it himself but he was ready to go home cause he always thinks he has all this work to do down there but then finds out he is too weak to do much of anything. But whatever makes him happy I guess is what counts. It was a great week with temperatures well in the 70's and was just like summer out there.
After taking Dad home I got sick with a spring cold and felt terrible for a few days but on the mend again.
My friend is doing very well with his treatments for his cancer and had tests done on monday to see how it is doing. If doing well he will be going for a stem cell transplant. Got my fingers crossed and praying every night for him to get well.
Ok, I decided I don't like this year at all. The month starts out bad it ends up good ; if it starts up good it ends up bad. And yes, this month started out good and you guessed it; it has ended up bad. MS has decided to make it's presence in the family. Another dreaded disease. Thank god this is the last day of this month; I don't think I could handle too much more bad news right now. And I wonder why I am depressed so much. AND IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT; NOW I AM REALLY DEPRESSED.
March 2005
This month has to be better than the last 2 were. It can't get any worse -- or can it?
My Depression is getting worse and I am ready to call it quits with the computer, the internet and anything that has to do with computers. I know it is just for a short time I will feel like this and then I will get back to normal. LOL What is normal for me? I don't even know that anymore
With my depressions help, I made a few changes in my life. Or somebody did LOL.
I am slowly getting out of the depression and feels like the world has been lifted off my shoulders. I really feel quite good.
I went for my MRI and now just waiting to see. Well it wasn't what the therapy was treating me for and I could have wore a cast forever and that finger would never had straightened out. The finger was hurt and needs to be repaired before it will ever work right again. Now to find a Dr willing to do the operation. It is a 50/50 chance that it will be fixed or be worse. Now to decide if I am willing to take that gamble.
I am still very worried about my Dad. He is getting worse.
March 22 was not a great day. I got a few calls about Dad and he is in the hospital and it is storming out and I can't drive down. Then I received the one call I have never been looking forward to receiving. We only give your Dad an hour or 2 to live. Storm or no storm I was on the road heading for a 4 hr drive and trying to get there in time. I made it down there and they had gave Dad a blood transfusion and he was holding his own. I stayed at the farm that night and recieved a call from the hospital the next day that they were sending him by ambulance up to a hospital here. So I was back on the road following the ambulance so I could be at the hospital soon after he got there.
On the morning of March 24 the hospital up here called and said they found my Dad not breathing, no heart beat, and non responsive. They managed to get his heart going again and they wanted to know how much I wanted them to do to keep him alive. So I was once again on the road heading for the hospital. I got there and they let me in to see him and they had put in a temp. pacemaker and were making arrangements to operate and put in a perm pacemaker which they did that afternoon. And now it was up to my Dad to get well again.
That afternoon Deana and kids came up to stay again for 10 days. We sure love scrapbooking and Bren has already planned on taking a week off to come over and scrapbook with us. My son came up on the weekend to see Dad and had to head right back home again for his other job. My other daughter Dawn came up with her girls to visit with Dad and Jessie did some scrapbooking with us while she was here.
Dad was transferred back to the down home hospital and he is doing very well but still very weak.
For a month that started out so terrible and horrible all the way through it .. really didn't end so bad.
Feb. 2005
Feb started off on a bad foot, no matter how you look at it. One of my best friends mom passed away and he was diagnosed with cancer (again).
I had to drive Deana and kids back home and it sure was quiet here for a few days and I missed the kids. But when the subject of adopting a couple kids came up I got over missing the kids real fast. :-)
I am scheduled for a MRI on my finger and I hope they can find out what is wrong with it.
My Dad isn't doing too well this month. Something is wrong and I am very worried about him. He is always bruised and so swollen up.
Thank god this is a short month, I am very depressed this month.
Jan. 2005
This year started off just like every other year. Computer problems and then totally no computer.
When it totally quit, I just shut it off and didn't even try to fix it for a week; which, isn't me at all. I usually go into a panic and have to have it running immediately.
After a week I got it up and running again with much expense and 2 totally different hard drives and a new power supply that is big enough to run a house off of.
I was still going 3 times a week for therapy on my finger, till I was driving home and hit an icy spot on the road and got my cast caught between the steering wheel and signal light switch and almost rolled my veh. I threw that cast away and never went back.
Deana came home to stay for 10 days and it was a pleasure having her and her 2 little ones here. The 1 weekend Brenda and her 2 kids came over and stayed overnight and what a house full. There were 4 kids, 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 2 sisters who haven't been together for overnight for 16 years.
We all survived it and the girls really had a good time ScrapBooking. We had a birthday party for Amanda while they were here. She was quite excited about that.
