Jan. 1, 1998
Happy New Year to everybody from all of us. It snowed last night and turned cold. Nanna is not looking forward to the driving tasks ahead of her now .. but Miky is more important than worrying about the weather. Miky spent New Years in the hospital. It was her week for treatments. Tomorrow maybe she gets to come home. Tonight she got very sick. They don't know if it is the chemo or the flu or maybe just cutting teeth .. We hope it is just teeth.

Well they let her come home today .. but she sure is a sick little girl. When you can't even keep the gravol down .. it is a problem.

Still not too good of a day .. she seems to be feeling a bit better though.

She is feeling better today. Today a couple of her Net Friends came to visit her. She was really happy to see them but also was shy. Too bad she had not been feeling better before they got here. Silver Wolf is from the Netherlands and Mystery is from Vancouver Island, BC. They brought a Tickle Me Cookie Monster, she liked the big eyes on him. hehehe .. After we had left the house ... we of course had to have a snow ball fight outside and she stood in the window and watched us laughing. Her mom said she kept waving and saying ..... "bye bye tank qu" . She can be such a sweetie .. sometimes.. LOL

Jan. 5, 1998
Today we headed for the clinic for the blood work. The tests came back as good as they can be and Miky was checked out and seems she is over whatever she had. We are happy about that.
Jan. 9, 1998
The Cancer for Children Group here get tickets for different shows and activities for the kids and Miky got tickets for Walt Disney's Worlds On Ice Presents The Spirit of Pocahontas. She loved it and was so excited. It was good to see her enjoy herself so much again. "Thank You" to whoever donated the tickets for her .. it was much enjoyed and appreciated.

Today back to the clinic for tests. Grandma had to cancel out of the drive today. The car was boss and decided it wasn't going to go out in the cold, so it broke down and got a ride to a garage to get fixed right away...... Miky's test results today weren't very good. It is going to be fever watch week now. grrrrrrrrrrr

So far so good this week. No high fevers, just low grade ones. Hope it continues. Monday it is back to the hospital again after the blood work. Not too many more weeks of this. Almost over this part of the treatments. Time has been going by fast.
Jan. 19, 1998
Early this morning we were heading for the cancer clinic again. Got the blood tests done and sat and waited for the results. Miky got weighed in and she has gained some weight so hopefully she will continue gaining. The doctor said if she didn't start putting more weight on she would have to have a tube put into her to feed her. Her counts were good .. so it was off to the hospital. She is in good humor today .. only 2 more times after this week. They got her hooked up to her IV .. to flush her .. will hook her chemo up at 6 tonight. Tonight when they hooked up her chemo she started to get hives. They had to give her stuff for that. I hope she isn't getting allergies to it. Time will tell. With her medication she went right to sleep .. so hopefully she will be ok tonight. Tomorrow is another bad day .. into the operating room again. Poor kids .. they go through so much.

Today was the day for the operating room procedures. It seemed to go pretty good for her and she came out in a fairly good mood. The mood changed during the day to be a bit more angry. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Jan. 21, 1998
Miky was still quite angry today. I took her book I made for her up to her and she was quite happy to read through it. Today was a bit of schooling for her. She has to learn how to do the spinals awake now. The hospital has dolls that they use to teach the kids what is gong to happen and what the child has to do. She is in a very unhappy mood today, I don't think she is feeling that well. A very bad night for her.

Today we took Miky home. She isn't feeling very good, these treatments are running her down. Sure will be glad when they are over. She is getting sicker after each one now than she did before. She was happy to be at home though and was really happy to see her own little bed.

A bad day for Miky. She was very sick today. These treatments are getting worse for her. She is getting very sick to her tummy now after them.
Jan. 24, 1998
Today was worse for her. Her nose is now bleeding and still being sick. She is showing signs of all of her counts being dangerously low. Her Mom called the hospital and they will now be monitoring her. If anything gets worse, it will be back into the hospital.

Went for tests today and they are coming back up, she is feeling a bit better again.

Miky's brother has been very sick this week with the flu. We are hoping Miky doesn't get it.

Another month gone .. yippy .. we got through a rough one .. hopefully next month will be better ..*fingers crossed*.. *sigh*
