The Day Came
All too soon the day came
The day I had to say good-bye
You have now gone to be with the Lord
You have gone to be with my brothers
I had you for 49 years, it is now their turn.
May you walk the land of joy
Hand in hand with two little boys
I know we will all meet again
In that great land up above
Heaven it is called, you have already lived in hell.
Mom, now you can play your music
And sing again from up above
Your at peace again, free of pain
Make a home and wait for us
Please save a place for me, show me the way.
So much was not said
Before you left me on that day
But unspoken words I did feel
You showed me the past and the future
In those few short days, what life is about.
I now understand so much more
Those unspoken words told me so much
I know where you have been
I now know the why and what for
Thank you Mom, I understand.
May you rest in peace, Mom
I forgive and love you so
You did your best, you gave your all
You made me the person I am today
Thank you for everything I have learned.

Mom just for you, a poem I wrote many years ago
A poem you were so proud of.
MY BEST FRIEND
Growing up was hard to do
It was hard for my friend too
We were together everyday
Learning how to run and play.
As I grew older
My friend grew bolder
When I got very sick
She knew what games to pick.
When life got me down
She made me smile, not frown
When a secret she was told
All the words inside she'd hold.
One day she was sick, I didn't know why
The doctors told me she was going to die
The problem they could not mend
I lost my very best friend.
As days passed by, I could not smile
I rode my horse mile after mile
She was a good friend, so fine
Mickey, that little dog of mine.
A tribute to my childhood friend.
